TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik offers frequency matched stereo sets of their large and small diaphragm microphones, including both vacuum tube and solid state FET designs.
TUBE STEREO SETS
TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik’s Diamond, Alchemy and small Diaphragm Series tube microphones are available as stereo sets, each including two meticulously matched microphones and a dual power supply in a premium flight case. The American-made power supply is capable of powering both microphones at one time and the included carrying case easily holds both sets of microphones, cables, and accessories.
All critical components, including the capsules, tubes and transformers, are hand-selected and tested for matched gain and frequency response. These sets offer the user the knowledge and comfort that the tools they are using will give identical responses for the most critical stereo recording.
FET STEREO SETS
Each FET Stereo Set includes two microphones with precision gain matched amplifiers and frequency matched capsules in a convenient carrying case. Both the amplifiers and capsule sets are measured within a strict 1 dB sensitivity tolerance. The circuits incredibly fast transient response captures nuances and subtleties with impressive precision and clarity. In stereo applications this results in an extremely detailed sonic image with definition and presence, perfectly suited for the complex character of stringed instruments and percussive sources.
The large diaphragm TF11 and TF17 are available as stereo sets.
The small diaphragm M60 Stereo Sets are available with several capsule options including Cardioid, Omnidirectional, Hypercardioid and as the M60 Master Stereo Set, which includes matched sets of all three capsule options. Additional capsules are available for purchase through the TELEFUNKEN webstore.
Matched pairs of M60’s with Cardioid capsules are included in the DC6 and DC7 Drum Packs.
Q: What are the differences between a Matched Pair and a Stereo Set?
A: Matched Pairs are two complete mics systems with two individual sets of accessories, where the Stereo Sets include a dual power supply capable of running both mics at the same time, and a premium combination locking hard shell suitcase. Both systems include (2x) frequency and gain matched microphones, (2x) tube mic cables, (2x) elastic shock mounts and (2x) stand mounts.
Q: What are the similarities between a Matched Pair and a Stereo Set?
A: Both systems include (2x) frequency and gain matched microphones, (2x) tube mic cables, (2x) elastic shock mounts and (2x) stand mounts. Matched Pairs include (2x) power supplies and (2x) zipper cases, while the Stereo Sets include a dual power supply and a premium combination locking hard shell suitcase.
Q: Why offer both the Matched Pair and a Stereo Set?
A: Matched pairs can be split or separated and used independently from each other. Two completely separate systems with identical response could be used at separate locations with the same performance specifications. Stereo Sets, with their dual power supply, provide a more discrete set up, and can be transported in one case.
