Paul Special Picks TELEFUNKEN for Network TV, Radio, Records & Education

New York City, NY, May 2025 – Award-winning audio engineer, educator and studio designer Paul Special is currently serving as the Broadcast Music Mixer for ABC/Disney’s Good Morning America (GMA), the #1 rated morning news program in television. At GMA, he has mixed over 1000 live-to-air music performances for Taylor Swift, Green Day, Coldplay, John Legend, Lady Gaga, and others.

“Telefunken mics have become a ‘go to’ choice for me, especially in live broadcasting,” says Special, who has TELEFUNKEN Dynamic Series microphones on hand for use on GMA and other shows he mixes. “The tight super-cardioid pattern of the M80 and M81 is invaluable when trying to minimize leakage on the smaller stages found in many TV studios. These mics are outstanding sonically and the build quality is second to none.”
