“Bernard Purdie with special guest, Rick Beato” Clinic and Concert

Join us to honor session musician and most recorded drummer in American music history, Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, along with multi-instrumentalist, record producer, recording engineer and YouTube’s #1 preeminent music educator, Rick Beato, for an afternoon of music making history. Rick Beato, with over 3 million YouTube subscribers, will continue with Part 2 of his now legendary interview of Bernard Purdie. Bernard, best known to all as “The Hit-Maker” for his Purdie Shuffle drum groove, has graced the records of over 4,000 recordings, including many iconic songs by Aretha Franklin, Hall & Oates, James Brown, Jeff Beck, Cat Stevens, B.B. King, Joe Cocker, Todd Rundgren, Miles Davis, Al Green, Robert Palmer, Roberta Flack, Donny Hathaway, Herbie Mann, King Curtis, Larry Coryell, Vulfpeck…and most notably, Steely Dan, to name just a few. The afternoon will comprise a special tribute movie, a new interview of Bernard by Rick, and a live concert of Bernard and his band playing those same infectious drum grooves on the most iconic tunes of his career. Snacks are included and all net proceeds will be donated to The Asperger/Autism Network (aane.org).
