The Fairchild 670 compressor, with its classic design and timeless charm, has played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of modern music. Since its introduction in the 1950s, it has become a coveted piece of audio equipment, celebrated for its smooth, musical compression and rich harmonic saturation.
The FAIRCHILD 670 is a highly coveted vacuum tube compressor/limiter, now faithfully recreated to offer modern producers and audio engineers the classic sound of the original hardware. Unlike other 670 replicas, this new FAIRCHILD 670 stays true to the original design. It features the same tubes and custom-wound transformers, meticulously crafted to the original specifications. With its point-to-point soldering and turret-style construction, this is the only authentic recreation of the original 670, built and designed by Rein Narma at the request of Les Paul. We are thrilled to present this detailed and exacting recreation of the legendary FAIRCHILD 670—the legend reborn.
