Job Title: Power Supply Assembly Technician

Status: Full Time

Department: Production

Reports to: Production Manager

Job Summary: The Power Supply Assembly Technician will be responsible for building a range of power supplies for vacuum tube-based microphone systems. This role includes mechanical assembly, wiring, soldering, and testing processes.

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly of metalwork, hardware, and circuit boards into complete power supply units
  • Wiring and soldering for all power supply connectors, switches, and circuit boards
  • Test and calibrate all power supplies for use with complete microphone system
  • Maintain technical knowledge of all power supply model variations and differences

Other Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all departments to best support production and sales demands
  • Contribute to production inventory control procedures and keep track of stock levels for all parts used in power supply production
  • Troubleshoot any issues with power supplies for product repairs or production issues
  • Maintain skills and education to ensure continuous product assembly knowledge and positive career growth

 Qualification Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical circuitry, schematics, and the function of common circuit components
  • Proficient with soldering iron and other hand tools
  • Knowledge of power supply circuitry and ability to learn about all TELEFUNKEN products and their power requirements
  • Needs to be able to learn new processes and operations
  • Once trained the technician needs to be able to execute those operations with little to no oversight

Audio Experience

  • Proven experience operating modern sound equipment as a sound engineer is a plus
  • Working knowledge of recording studio software and hardware (e.g. Pro Tools) is a plus
  • Experience with sound editing and recording equipment (e.g. mixing consoles) is a plus
  • Technical expertise in sound engineering techniques (e.g. equalization) is a plus
  • Excellent hearing, manual dexterity, with an ear for detail is a plus

Administrative Experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to get along with co-workers and other contractors
  • Employee must have professional attitude, be a positive team player, and be willing to engage in sales like activity
  • Basic knowledge of inventory control, retail point of sales, financial and accounting software (Quickbooks, Square, Fishbowl, etc) is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc) is a plus

Technical & Educational Experience

  • Working knowledge of PC and Mac operating systems
  • Creativity and attention to detail
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Technical aptitude
  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, or related experience is a plus

Additional Experience

  • Proven history working at live music events like concerts, festivals or recitals is a plus
  • Proven history working in a music instrument and professional audio retail store environment is a plus
  • Experience working with high profile clients including artists, bands, dealers and distributors is a plus
