What's New at TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik

TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik Introduces New Version AK-47 MkII at Summer NAMM

Featuring a dual-sided, gold-sputtered capsule and a NOS (New Old Stock) TELEFUNKEN EF-732 vacuum tube, the new AK-47 MkII includes a transformer upgrade to the historic BV8 found in the U-47 and U-48 microphone classics of the past.

Through continued research, the AK-47 MkII's new amplifier better employs the extended low frequency capabilities of the original 1950's transformer design. Additional modifications have introduced premium quality components into the circuit layout in order to take full advantage of the extended frequency response capabilities.

TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik — EU!!!

By June of 2010 TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik will once again return to Germany!!

EU operations will be based in the sleepy little town outside of Munich [locally known as München] in Bavaria called Gröbenzell. EU operations will assist EU distribution with faster delivery times of mics and historic replacement parts across the EU as well as maintaining a fully stocked and staffed service center for both new as well as historic TELEFUNKEN [and some AKG & Neumann] microphones.

This service center will take care of any / all warranty repairs for microphones with registered EU serial numbers [if you have gray marketed your microphone you are either on your own or looking at the "full boat" for service].

Preparations for the EU Operations office will begin in May and should be finalized by early June, mid-June at the latest.

AR-51 launch an unprecedented success!!

TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik’s R-F-T Series added a new family member on January 14th, 2010 called the R-F-T AR-51. Featuring the same amplifier found in a vintage C-12 or ELA M 251 E the AR-51 is an affordable method to gain a sound with a very strong family resemblance to its big brothers. The AR-51 has its own unique signature of tone that is quintessentially TELEFUNKEN in nature, but at a price mere mortals can afford. Give it a listen at your favorite TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik reseller [click here to find the one nearest you!!]

TELEFUNKEN CK-13 capsule a space age reality

During 2009 TELEFUNKEN developed our new CK-13 capsule. Based on the venerable CK-12 capsule found in every ELA M 25x mic and C-12 the CK-13 employs a new diaphragm material known as Alloy 2213. This alloy is a mixture of Titanium and Aluminum which is both lighter and more rigid than traditional gold sputtered Mylar® found on most microphone capsules. The net result is a sense of space and detail never before heard in any microphone at any price. At TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik we never rest on our laurels and vow to continue the tradition of innovation that made TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik famous. You can read more about here!!

M1c

TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik is in the final design and proto-type stages of the new M1c "cardioid only tube microphone." Employing a NOS [New– Old Stock] TELEFUNKEN EF-95 tube and custom wound output transformer the M1c brings TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik's opulent audio quality to the masses at a price even the most humble home/project studio can easily afford!! We fully anticipate production to begin on this exciting new addition to the TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik family of products in the fall of 2010.

M-80 Wireless

Due to the phenomenal success of the M-80 we have been getting all kinds of requests for a wireless version of the microphone. Currently we have the technology in place to modify Shure Bros.® wireless systems to accept M-80 capsules and transformers [we just modified over 30 of them for Green Day's current world tour]. By the conclusion of 2010 we hope to have the "modification" available in the form of a "screw on replacement" for your favorite wireless transmitter "handles".

Congratulations!!!

Are once again extended to Alex Carlin who performed for 32 consecutive hours, earning him the new Guinness World Record for "Longest Concert by a Solo Artist." The extended show took place at the Pub Bourbon Street, Radomsko, Poland. We sincerely thank him for choosing a TELEFUNKEN M80 microphone for this historic performance!!!
