With the delicate nature of our instruments in mind, a specially designed shell was constructed that permits the contents to acclimate to environmental temperature gradually and safely inside, regardless of how quickly and drastically they change outside. This will extend the life of the capsule, tube, and the entire microphone system.
We learned through extensive research that it is not the extremes in temperature and humidity that cause problems with vintage mics, and instruments. It is the drastic change in temperature and humidity that cause problems (expansion and contraction due to rapid temperature change). If you can allow a very gradual change in these conditions, there is no negative affect.
Our case designer has employed a special blend of 7 Wisconsin hardwoods with a select adhesive in the construction of the shell of the case. This not only adds to the rigid nature of the walls of the case, but also adds a fair bit of mass which furthers the case's ability to stabilize climate change conditions and bring the microphone slowly to environmental acclimation.
In addition to the safety of the microphone in mind, we set out to make the case as beautiful and functional as possible. The exterior of the case features a blend of real leather trim over 1000 pt. Cordura®, and further features dual combination locks, which are trimmed in nickel (not gold) for an understated and somewhat elegant look. Cordura® was chosen for the exterior finish, as it is the finest traveling fiber in the world, which also works with the shell to achieve gradual change.
The lush interior is sized for the mic to fit snugly, yet permit easy extraction of both the microphone and the accessories. Internal padding was designed to reduce external shock transference to the instrument within and to maintain a look worthy of as quality an instrument as you will get from TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik. Because of the pride we hold in each microphone (as well as its case) that leaves our facility, our classic TELEFUNKEN logo is embroidered on the inside lid, and an engraved logo plate (with matching SR # when applicable) finish the package.

The case system used for the DIAMOND SERIES is now available for our R-F-T series as well. These aftermarket TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik R-F-T cases are now available for all R-F-T Series microphones, and your existing foam insert will drop right in!
