South Windsor, CT, June, 2005 — Telefunken's R-F-T M16 Mk
II microphone has been nominated for this year's TEC Award for Studio
Microphone Technology. The annual TEC Awards are hosted by the Mix
Foundation for Excellence in Audio. Telefunken's new large diaphragm
condenser microphone is a low-cost alternative to the Telefunken
microphones which have gained popularity among today's top producers
and engineers. The R-F-T product line was created earlier this year
to address the needs of broadcasters, Do It Yourself Audio Enthusiasts
and the project studio market. Utilizing standardized microphone
parts from overseas, with a combination of high quality components
made in the United States and NOS tubes, Telefunken was able to
launch the cost efficient microphone line R-F-T, while still preserving
the legendary Telefunken sound.
In
addition to the news of its third consecutive TEC Award nomination,
Telefunken is announcing an upgrade of the M16 to the R-F-T M16
Mk II. The updated version features a new circuit design based around
a NOS GE JAN 6072 vintage tube and a custom transformer. All existing
M16 customers will be given a free upgrade to the Mk II. Contact

The R-F-T M16 Mk II provides an exceptionally clean, warm tone,

hand built in the United States. This circuit is designed by Telefunken
| USA™ and hand assembled in the United States.
- NOS GE JAN 6072 (same tube used in Telefunken ElaM 251).
- 25-foot Gotham Audio GAC7 cable.
- Remote 9 polar pattern external power supply, shock mount and
hand made wooden microphone box.
